If you want to transform your exercise routine into a relaxing, enjoyable ride, then grab your helmet, put on some comfortable clothes and hop on your bike! Riding a bike is a great option if you are trying to burn calories and improve your   health . It also helps you to  relax  and is a great way to enjoy your routine.

It's unbelievable that something so pleasant as feeling the fresh breeze on your face, watching people stroll by, and enjoying the landscape around your neighborhood, can actually be a part of your daily exercise routine. The truth is that riding a bike gives you all this and so much more.Some of  the many advantages this activity brings to your health include the following:

  • It strengthens muscles and joints.
  • It improves your flexibility and sense of balance.
  • It stimulates correct functioning of the lungs.
  • It strengthens your  heart.
  • It improves your "lipid profile;" in other words, it decreases LDL or "bad" cholesterol, increases HDL, or "good" cholesterol, and it helps reduce triglyceride levels in your blood. All of this helps prevent future heart conditions.
  • It optimizes your body's use of glucose which helps prevent type 2 diabetes.
  • It helps strengthen your spine, and helps prevent lower back problems and back pain which are usually related to a lack of physical activity.
  • It increases oxygen levels in the brain, and releases endorphins, hormones associated with the sensation of pleasure and well-being, which reduce stress levels and makes you feel more relaxed.
  • Unlike other types of exercises, riding a bike is a low impact activity which means your knees don't endure constant impact.
  • It burns calories and helps you reach and maintain a normal weight especially if you combine it with a proper  diet plan

If you're still not impressed by the benefits this activity brings to your health, you should be aware that riding a bike is a cheap and environment friendly way to work out. Bikes don't release polluting gases into the air and they don't run on fossil fuels.
